How to use Remove pages

  1. 1

Open the PDF; every page appears as a thumbnail.

  2. 2

Click the pages to delete, or type numbers like 2, 5-7 in the sidebar.

  3. 3

Press Remove pages and download the shorter PDF.

Click or type, whichever is faster

For a short document, clicking thumbnails is quickest: a marked page turns red with a strike-through badge. For a long scan where every second page is blank, typing the numbers is easier. Both inputs stay in sync, so you can type a range and then click to fine-tune it.

Spotting blank pages

Double-sided scanners often produce an empty page after every printed one. Thumbnails make those obvious at a glance. Look for pages that are almost white but carry a faint line or a page number — those are usually worth keeping.

What stays the same

The remaining pages are copied unchanged: same size, same orientation, same selectable text. Only the pages you marked are left out of the new file.

Undoing a mistake

Nothing happens to your original PDF, so if you remove the wrong page, simply press Start over and run the tool again on the original.

Remove pages: frequently asked questions

Can I remove every page?

No — a PDF needs at least one page, so the tool asks you to leave at least one unmarked.

Does removing pages make the file smaller?

Usually yes. Images and fonts used only by the removed pages are not copied into the new file.

Is this different from Extract pages?

They are mirror images. Remove pages keeps everything except what you mark; Extract pages keeps only what you mark.

Can I remove pages from a locked PDF?

If the PDF needs a password to open, unlock it first with Unlock PDF, then remove the pages.
